There are three major groups in our school of medicine:

Pre-med Students

The first group is for the pre-med/nursing members.  We have semester courses that provide a primer for medical school, international experience, disaster training, and shadowing local physicians.  You will also receive direct feedback on applications from physicians and program directors.

Med Students

The second group is for the current medical students for which we provide a one-year course. This is perfect for the medical students who recently finished their second year or for the student who has just graduated but needs more time to prepare for residency. Your training will include international opportunities to work in 3rd world countries. You will complete and certify in Basic Life support / CPR, PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PHTLS (Prehospital Trauma Life Support), EMTB (Emergency Medical Technician / Basic) AEMT (Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.) MBA from WGU, and extensive training in EKG, X-Ray, Clinical medicine, Bi-Monthly Refugee clinics, procedures, suturing, and core disaster training.

Electives – For Med Students

The third group is a one-month elective for medical students and residents. You will teach, learn, and train in disaster and international medicine.  Depending on what time of year you join us, you will either be extensively working internationally or teaching others in disaster medicine.

This is currently under revision is not an option and will be implemented in future on a case by case evaluation.
